Apply for the exam
Your first step in applying for the ARDMS SPI examination is to find out if you meet the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation examination requirements. Eligibility to sit for the SPI exam can be met by:
- 1. Completion with a passing grade of “C” or higher of a course in general or ultrasound physics.
- OR
- 2. 12 CME credits from a course or class in general physics or ultrasound physics. These CME credits must be approved and accepted by the ARDMS.
If you currently meet other ARDMS prerequisites (1-7), it is advisable to apply under the applicable prerequisite.
